Australia’s regent honeyeater bird has been listed on the endangered list. The main reason is because of habitat loss. Many efforts work to help when species are found to be in a critical state. Many times they are kept in areas to help repopulate with a controlled release.

Our daily life is full. What are we filling it with? A cup full of the daily news would overflow anyone’s daily dose of fear, anxiety, stress and hopelessness. I do not see humans on the endangered list at this time, but I think we may be losing our heartfelt song as well.

The Australia’s regent honeyeater bird may be losing its song. Though once an abundant species, just three hundred birds now remain; and with so few others to learn from, the males are forgetting their unique song and failing to attract mates. Can we can loose our heartfelt songs as well?

What are we doing to help those that are endangered and all of us who are losing hope? Action steps have to be taken before the songs are lost and hearts can sing. The world has a way of capturing our attention, distorting our thoughts and shifting our focus.
