Asking questions is indeed a great way to engage in thought and promote deeper thinking. However, it's crucial to ensure that the questions we ask do not put individuals in a position where they don't feel good or safe. Using judgmental, accusative, or interrogative wording can have unintended negative effects and create a sense of discomfort or unease.

Instead, approaches like journal writing, engaging in conversations, and collaborating with others can foster open communication and meaningful interactions. These methods provide opportunities for self-reflection, understanding different perspectives, and working together to find constructive solutions. By choosing our words carefully and creating a supportive environment, we can encourage positive engagement and personal growth.

Selecting one of the prompts above is a way to start a five minute time for thought. As part of Lead with Two Rules, I will be providing more questions for students, families, school and community.

In the whirlwind of our daily lives, it's increasingly challenging to carve out moments of peace and reflection. From the constant rush of tasks to the relentless transitions between places, we find ourselves caught in a cycle of busyness. The minutes tick by, filled with noise and distractions, leaving little room for silence and introspection.

Yet, amidst this chaotic pace, we must remember the value of quiet time. Taking a moment to pause, to stop and think, is not just a luxury but a necessity for our well-being. It's in these moments of stillness that we can truly connect with our thoughts, feelings, and aspirations.

Let's prioritize these precious moments of quiet amidst the hustle and bustle of our days. Whether it's a few minutes of meditation, a peaceful walk outdoors, or simply sitting in silence, let's give ourselves the gift of reflection. In doing so, we can find clarity, recharge our minds, and navigate our busy lives with a sense of purpose and calm.
