As an educator, I was widely recognized for my positive attitude, ability to motivate others, and my knack for storing away little things that would benefit those around me. It was never a question for me about what I would receive; rather, my focus was always on what I could give to others.

Being a leader in any field means being tested each day, and there will always be individuals who attempt to chip away at the very foundation you stand on. However, it is crucial never to let the voices of a few drown out the needs of the many. I vividly remember one particular day, which happened to be the worst in my entire educational career. Typically, I refrained from sharing the details of my day with my family, but this time it was different. I felt compelled to open up to my husband and daughter. As I stood in the kitchen, he came in to see what I was doing. I told him, "Tomorrow is conferences, and I promised the staff that I would bring in a cheeseball, crackers, and other food."

No matter the circumstances, it is crucial to give your all. The negative voices are always just a few who see the world through a narrow lens. By being transparent in your work and consistently adhering to your principles, approaches, policies, actions, and procedures, you can foster unity. Remember, united we stand, and divided we fall. Each day, strive to be part of the solution in a world that desperately needs all of us to contribute and give back to others.

To my surprise, my husband looked at me with fury in his eyes and said, "Are you crazy? After what they did to you today! You're going to work tonight, after a long day, to make them food to eat? I would tell them to **** off!" I apologize for not being able to repeat all the words he used. In response, I calmly said, "I refuse to let a few individuals change who I am as a person. I have done nothing wrong, and I will continue to be true to myself. I will always follow through on my commitments."

Your core beliefs, values and dedication will shine brightly even on the darkest days.

I am honored to stand among exceptional global thought leaders, each embodying their unique expertise and making an indelible impact in their respective fields. In this shared space, we have the privilege of inspiring, motivating, and encouraging one another, recognizing that the strength of leadership resonates across all domains.

While my expertise lies within the educational field, I have come to understand that the essence of leadership transcends industry boundaries. It is a force that unites us, irrespective of our specific fields, as we strive to make a lasting difference in the lives of those we serve.

Today, I invite you to reflect upon the immense potential within you. As leaders, we possess the remarkable ability to ignite inspiration in others, motivate them to reach higher, and provide the encouragement needed to overcome challenges. Our influence extends far beyond the realms of our immediate responsibilities. We are catalysts for growth, change, and empowerment.

Let us remember that leadership is not defined solely by titles or positions. True leadership lies in the impact we create, the lives we touch, and the legacies we leave behind. It is found in the relationships we cultivate, the trust we build, and the guidance we offer. It is about leading by example, nurturing the strengths of those around us, and fostering an environment where everyone can thrive.

In this journey, we may encounter obstacles and setbacks, but let us never lose sight of the potential for growth and transformation they hold. It is through these challenges that we discover our resilience, deepen our understanding, and emerge stronger than before. Let us embrace each hurdle as an opportunity for learning and personal development, knowing that our ability to overcome them will inspire those we lead.

As we embark on a new month, let our voices harmonize with unwavering conviction, sharing stories of triumph, wisdom, and perseverance. Let us lift one another up, amplifying the voices of those who may feel unheard. Together, we can build a tapestry of leadership excellence, woven with compassion, innovation, and inclusivity.

Remember that your contributions are vital, your influence immense, and your potential limitless. Each day offers us a chance to make a difference, to shape the future, and to inspire greatness in others. Let us seize this opportunity with passion, purpose, and unwavering dedication.

May this month be a testament to our collective ability to inspire, motivate, and encourage. Let us embrace the strength of our leadership, recognizing that it knows no bounds and can transcend every field and industry. Together, we can shape a brighter tomorrow for all those we serve.

In the vast sea of humanity, our individual actions may seem small and insignificant. Yet, let us never underestimate the power they hold. For it is through one act, one choice, and one person that ripples are formed, carrying their impact far beyond what we can imagine.

Imagine a world where Ruth Emmanuel, a dedicated individual in Nigeria, found solace and inspiration in my blog posts. She, filled with a burning desire to make a difference, reached out to me for support. In that moment, a connection was forged, and my role as a mentor became clear.

My decision to help Ruth stems from the depths of my heart, driven by passion and purpose in bettering the lives of those who shape our children's future. It is a reminder to us all that we have a responsibility to be the best versions of ourselves as members of this world.

Never forget the immense power we possess to uplift and touch the lives of others. In the simplest acts of kindness, civility, respect, love, and compassion, we can bring light to even the darkest corners. By standing up against those things that hinder our progress, we pave the way for a better tomorrow.

Ruth, with her unwavering courage and strength, stands as a testament to the transformative power of one individual's determination. She walks the path of a solution-seeker, striving daily to make a positive difference in a world that is desperate for more like her.

It is a privilege and joy to lend my support to Ruth and others who yearn to leave their mark on the world. Together, you form a collective force, united in your pursuit of a brighter today and an even better tomorrow.

So, let this message inspire you to never underestimate the impact you can have. Through your actions, choices, and the connections you forge, you have the power to create ripples that will touch the lives of countless others. Embrace your role as a catalyst for change, and let your passion and purpose guide you in making this world a better place for all.

I am not what you would call a green thumb. While I do my best to keep plants alive, it takes a resilient species to survive in our home. The landscaping outside faces not only the unpredictable elements but also the constant presence of wildlife. Sadly, my poor snowball bush has fallen victim to this daily struggle, with every leaf chewed off, leading me to suspect the mischievous deer as the culprits.

As I embarked on my morning routine, I began with my daily devotions. Today's reading revolved around the idea of having three different kinds of people in one's life and how these relationships impact us. It made me reflect on the plight of my snowball bush and the other plants I had just watered.

Our life's journey offers us the chance to encounter a diverse array of individuals, each with their unique experiences and perspectives. These encounters enrich our lives and provide us with a wealth of knowledge and insights that we can use to better serve others. Just like the variety of people we meet, the experiences we gather along the way contribute to our personal growth and understanding.

Much like my attempts to care for plants, tending to these relationships requires effort and attention. Just as I water and nourish my plants, I must invest time and energy into cultivating meaningful connections with the people around me. By doing so, I not only contribute to their well-being but also foster a supportive and nurturing environment where we can all thrive.

Though my gardening skills may be lacking, the lessons I learn from my humble snowball bush and my morning devotions remind me of the profound impact that different individuals can have on our lives. Each person we encounter has the potential to shape our understanding, broaden our horizons, and enhance our ability to make a positive difference in the world.

So, as I continue my journey, I strive to embrace the diversity of people I encounter and cherish the knowledge and experiences they bring. Together, we can create a tapestry of wisdom, compassion, and understanding that enables us to serve others with greater empathy and effectiveness. And just maybe, with a little luck and determination, I might even manage to grow a plant or two that can withstand the challenges of both nature and wildlife. (Plus me!)

Each day I read daily devotions and today I read about the following. I adapted the piece to help us focus on identifying who we are, who are those around us and are we growing roots?

In life, we come across a myriad of individuals who impact us in various ways. Some leave lasting impressions, while others come and go like passing seasons. Understanding the different types of people we encounter can help us navigate relationships and cultivate meaningful connections. Here are the three types of people you may encounter in your life:

  1. Leaf People:

Leaf people are like the autumn leaves that flutter in the wind. They come into your life for a short period, often attracted by personal gain or convenience. These individuals are not dependable or reliable. They may show affection or support when things are going well, but as soon as challenges arise, they vanish. Leaf people are transient and lack the strength to weather the storms of life alongside you. It is important to be cautious of these individuals and not rely on them when you truly need support. My students would call these individuals “fake.”

  1. Branch People:

Branch people, unlike leaf people, have a stronger presence and can provide support during certain seasons. They may stand by your side when life is relatively smooth. However, when faced with adversity or when the weight becomes too heavy, they may break away. These individuals have limitations and cannot withstand the pressures of challenging times. While their support can be appreciated during favorable circumstances, it's important to recognize that they may not be there for you when you need them the most. “Good time friends.”

  1. Root People:

Root people are the ones who anchor themselves in your life and provide unwavering support. They are the foundation of your relationships and offer genuine care and love. These individuals are not motivated by personal gain or fleeting circumstances. Root people are steadfast, regardless of the season or your position in life. They are the ones who stick with you through thick and thin, watering your growth even during the toughest times. Root people are true gems, and their unwavering support and love are invaluable. “Behind the scenes, sometimes the deeds they do are never known, doing all they can even when not asked or when it is too much.”

It's essential to understand that not everyone you encounter will be a root person. People come and go for various reasons, and that's a natural part of life. However, recognizing the different types of people can help you manage your expectations and invest your time and energy into those who truly matter.

Nurturing relationships with root people is vital. Their presence enriches our lives, providing a strong support system that withstands the tests of time. Cherish and cultivate these connections, for they are the ones who will be there for you no matter the season.

Remember, it's not the quantity of relationships that matters, but the quality of the connections you cultivate. Surround yourself with root people, and together you can weather any storm that life throws your way.

It is so important to surround yourself with roots. Also make sure you are growing individuals. Be the model of what you want to see.
